Barengi Gadjin Land Council (BGLC) is the representative body for Wotjobaluk Nations Peoples, supporting cultural heritage, community connection, caring for Country and Traditional Owner responsibilities across Wotjobaluk Country. BGLC engaged Planet Media to develop a clear, accessible, and community-focused website that could strengthen Member engagement, provide useful information to Wotjobaluk Nations Peoples and the wider community, and support stronger engagement with stakeholders, partners, and government.
The organisation wanted a digital platform that reflected the voice, priorities and identity of Wotjobaluk Nations Peoples while making it easier for Members, Community, researchers, visitors and external organisations to access information, learn about programs and initiatives, and engage with BGLC’s work across Country, Culture, heritage, Community and Caring for Country projects.
We developed a strategy centred on clarity, usability and accessibility, creating a professional digital platform that could grow alongside BGLC’s evolving needs. By prioritising intuitive structure, accessible design and long-term functionality, we ensured the website could effectively support Community, stakeholders and public engagement, while ongoing support and maintenance provided continued security, performance and adaptability.
We worked closely with stakeholders to understand user needs, content priorities and operational requirements, allowing us to build a clear information architecture that improved accessibility and navigation. We then developed a responsive, user-friendly website focused on readability, usability and seamless access across devices, supported by ongoing maintenance to ensure long-term security, performance and reliability.
